Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (m/f/d)
in Schwäbisch Gmünd

Your core tasks

  • Develop and qualify advanced manufacturing processes that will significantly improve the cost, quality, capacity, and sustainability of Schleich products. The following areas will be included: automated decoration (painting), automated product assembly, alternative plastic injection molding, and advanced mold-making processing
  • Ensure that these processes are standardized and understood by all relevant positions of the End-to-end process.
  • Prepare technical specifications including acceptable z-scores and perform efficient project management (timely design reviews, validation, installation)
  • Conduct time and method studies to establish time standards for production operations
  • Participate in strategic supplier selection for technology, equipment, and manufacturing suppliers as well as developing standardized process FMEAs to be deployed at Schleich’s current manufacturing sites
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis and to develop a “get-well plan”

Your profile

  • You have a degree in Engineering, preferably in mechanical or industrial engineering.
  • You have several years of experience in the following process areas with the ability to demonstrate a strong technical knowledge at them as well: injection molding, 2K/3K/4K injection molding, product decoration / product painting, laser printing, tampon printing, 3D printing, ultrasonic welding, application of adhesives and fasteners.
  • You bring at least 5 years of work experience as a manufacturing or process engineer.
  • You have Lean Manufacturing experience – preferred minimum Six Sigma Green Belt.
  • You know toy industry quality standards.
  • Preferably, you have software skills in 2D/3D CAD, MS Office, SAP, and VR/AR.
  • You are able and willing to travel up to 20% and thus are able to work cross-culturally and cross-functionally.
  • You are fluent in English as well as in German and have professional commercial communication skills.
