Director Quality (m/f/d)
in Schwäbisch Gmünd

Your core tasks

  • Overall responsibility for Schleich's Quality Policy, Process Systems and Controls, including the integrated quality of Schleich's supply chain partners
  • Disciplinary and functional accountability and responsibility of Quality Management, Quality Engineering, and Quality Assurance
  • Strategic and operational development of the quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015
  • Primary contact person for all quality issues with market surveillance authorities, customers and other organizations and associations within the toy industry, especially in reviewing and validating quality-related customer and supplier contract terms
  • Establishment and tracking of quality performance indicators as well as responsibility for reviewing and validating audit results, including defining consequences and actions for the organization in cases of high impact audit findings
  • Implementation of a continuous improvement process to reduce customer, supplier and internal complaints

Your profile

  • You have comprehensive management experience in quality management, ideally in the toy industry.
  • You worked at least 5 years in a comparable position.
  • You have additional qualifications in the area of quality management with training certificates, e.g. as Quality Representative (m/f/d), Quality Manager (m/f/d), Quality Auditor (m/f/d) or FMEA Moderator (m/f/d).
  • You have extensive knowledge of toy safety requirements and compliance management in a comparable position or comparable industry such as the food industry.
  • You are experienced in chemical safety assessments of raw materials and products and therefore have at least basic knowledge of toxicology and ecotoxicology.
  • You know the chemical regulations in Europe (REACH/CLP) and worldwide (GHS) and are experienced in working with government agencies and customers globally.
  • You bring in-depth knowledge in the areas of compliance, integrity, corporate ethics and responsibility or sustainability.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken.
  • You do not consider quality as a department but as a way of acting and thinking.
  • You think outside the box to challenge how quality is assessed and achieved.
