Director of Product Life Cycle Management (m/f/d)
in Schwäbisch Gmünd

Your core tasks

  • Technical and disciplinary management of the departments Technical Center Industrialization, Technical Center Decoration, Technical Center Packaging, Master Data Management, Product Launch Management
  • Overall leader (m/f/d) of product industrialization within End to End ("E2E") of new product introduction (7 direct reports, 25 employees in total)
  • Responsibility to ensure that products are developed on time to plan, on or below target cost, in accordance to quality, sustainability and compliance requirements, including cross-functional coordination and collaboration with Marketing, Finance, and other Operations Functions
  • Deployment of Design for Six Sigma, Design for Cost and Design for Manufacturability in the E2E product development to drive down cost and to ensure quality  
  • Assurance that all product-related documentation and data are accurate and controlled for revisions, including the deployment of product change requests in a timely and accurate manner
  • Overall leadership for the Product Life Cycle Management, including all product change requests and end of life actions
  • Responsibility to develop and deploy budget on target
  • Coordination of employee needs and preparation of personnel development planning as well as the organization of training and further education for employees within the area of responsibility

Your profile

  • You completed your mechanical or materials engineering degree (Bachelor or Masters).
  • Technical/disciplinary management of New Product Development and Operations runs smoothly due to your many years of experience.
  • You have >10 years of work experience leading Product Development, Operations, or Supply Chain in the field of consumer goods, preferably in the toy industry.
  • You are characterized by many years of experience in leading cross-functional teams.
  • You have proven technical experience in manufacturing, tooling development, materials engineering.
  • You have experience in leading projects, including technical project management.
