Junior Product Design Manager (all genders)
in Munich

The following adventures await you at Schleich:

  • Development of innovative and marketable playset concepts that meet market demands and 
    fulfill consumer needs
  • Research on industry trends, technologies, and benchmarks, followed by the creation of 
    concepts and visualization of new product ideas, including prototype development
  • Gaining an understanding of value perception drivers and success factors and embedding 
    these in a design and development guideline (standards)
  • Gathering information from all relevant departments for concept creation
  • Drafting product specifications (e.g., play value, functionalities)
  • Managing all design-related decisions from the concept phase to design freeze, within an 
    interdisciplinary team, in close collaboration with international, external partners/agencies
  • Continuous development of external partners
  • Managing the budget and resources for the research and development of concepts in close 
    cooperation with the brand management team

Your story so far: 

  • You have a degree in Design, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a comparable field of 
    study
  • Ideally, you bring several years of experience in product development, preferably in the toy 
    industry
  • You possess knowledge in developing plastic components with regard to feasibility and cost-efficiency
  • You have strong design skills and can effectively present them using various digital media
  • Proficiency in common design software and AI tools (ideally SolidWorks, Z-Brush, SORA, 
    DreamStudio) as well as solid knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite are required, along with a strong command of MS365 tools
  • Your work style is independent and structured, characterized by clear and goal-oriented 
    communication
  • You have excellent English language skills
  • Willingness to travel completes your profile (e.g., trade fairs, supplier visits)
