Senior Logistics Steering Manager (all genders)
in Munich/ Schwäbisch Gmünd
The following adventures await you at Schleich:
- Act as the main point of contact for all logistics service providers (B2B & D2C), including 3PLs, freight forwarders, and carriers in Europe and Asia
- Monitor and optimize key logistics KPIs (e.g., on-time/in-full delivery, cost per shipment, service quality, lead time reduction)
- Lead contract negotiations, SLAs, and ongoing improvement efforts with partners
- Willingness to travel to our Munich headquarters on a biweekly basis
- Analyze transport and warehousing costs to identify savings and improve cost-performance ratio
- Collaborate with finance and operations to build and track logistics budgets
- Implement cost-control strategies and monitor compliance with budgets and cost benchmarks
- Identify automation opportunities and evaluate their feasibility and ROI
- Build and use reporting tools and dashboards to track performance and identify trends
- Conduct root cause analysis of inefficiencies and develop corrective actions
- Support S&OP processes with logistics insights and capacity planning
- Drive logistics innovation by introducing new technologies and best practices
- Lead logistics projects to improve service levels, reduce lead times, and enhance agility
- Collaborate closely with Procurement, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and IT to align logistics with business strategy
Your story so far:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration or similar
- 8+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, including hands-on experience with 3PLs and freight forwarders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in cost control and performance optimization
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Proficiency with logistics and analytics tools (e.g., TMS, ERP, Excel, Power BI)
- Experience with global logistics and knowledge of international trade regulations is a plus
